Meredith-Dunn School uses the Wilson Reading System® for specialized instruction in reading and spelling. We are a fully accredited Wilson® partner, which means that we meet the Wilson Language Training® standards of excellence in the implementation of their programs. Our Wilson® credentialed trainer, Sara Thieman, provides training to the MDS faculty as they become certified. Additionally, she is able to provide workshops and supervise other teachers beyond our school.

Meredith-Dunn School used the Wilson Reading System® for specialized instruction in reading and spelling. Wilson® is an intensive program for students with language-based learning disabilities who are not making sufficient progress through other interventions and who require multisensory language instruction.

As a structured literacy program based on phonological-coding research and using an Orton-Gillingham approach, Wilson® provides systematic and explicit instruction of reading and spelling. Through this program, students learn decoding and encoding skills along with instruction in vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.
