Rebecca Roberts, Head of School

It is with great pride and anticipation that I introduce myself as the new Head of School at Meredith-Dunn. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our remarkable community of students, parents, faculty, and staff. With a deep commitment to our mission and core values, I look forward to continuing to build upon the strong traditions and achievements of Meredith-Dunn School.

Meredith-Dunn has been my home for over 20 years of my professional career, and has been part of my life even longer. After struggling to learn to read in a traditional school setting, my brother attended MDS during elementary school. When I interviewed for a teaching position right out of college, I knew that I wanted to focus my career on helping students with learning differences become successful, confident learners and resilient individuals. I had no doubt that Meredith-Dunn was the place to make that happen.  I spent many years in a teaching role, mostly in 8th grade, before moving to administration in 2021 as Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Our administrative team recently restructured and I served as the Assistant Principal of middle school during the 2023-2024 school year. In addition to having a Master’s Degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders, I have recently obtained a Supervisor of Instruction certification.

It is my priority to secure Meredith-Dunn’s place in the community as the foremost independent school for students with specific learning disabilities. Our approach is mission-driven and prescriptive. We value the development of the whole child, the personalization of instruction within our curriculum, and the empowerment of students. We value a collaborative partnership with families and a culture that supports them. Under my leadership, Meredith-Dunn will continue to be the place “where hearts and minds connect.”
