Students come to us with a variety of learning differences, which is why we are so prescriptive in our teaching approaches. We primarily serve children with specific language based learning differences in reading, math, and written expression.

Progress is monitored carefully throughout the school year, as well as through standardized assessments. Many families find that once their child is making strides in both academics and confidence, they prefer to continue receiving the ongoing support of a Meredith-Dunn education. We are always happy to discuss exit plans to aid the family in their decisions for moving forward.

The school day starts at 8:00 am. Morning drop off opens at 7:30 am. Students are greeted by the school staff at the gym door. School dismissal begins at 2:50 PM. Dismissal times are staggered in ten-minute intervals to avoid back up onto Melbourne Ave.

Yes! After school care is available between 3:00 pm to 5:50 pm during the school year on days school is in session. There is an additional fee for the program. MDS faculty members oversee the program. The program fills up quickly so inquire early. Please see the After School Care Program page.

The average class size is 10 to 14 students, with smaller grouping provided for academic instruction as needed.

The tuition for the 2021 – 2022 school year is $15,943. The enrollment contract requires a $500 deposit which covers the cost of registration, year-end assessment, technology, classroom books, and field trips.

Paul’s Market provides lunches on Monday – Thursday. Chick-Fil-A is served every Friday. Pizza is also served on an occasional basis. Lunch cost $5.00.

Once a child is found eligible for OT services, these services can be delivered during the school day. The child’s teacher, the OT, and parents will work out a schedule that compliments the child’s educational program.

Our PTSA creates a spirit wear program each school year. Items are available to purchase in August and November.

Our students transition very well to a variety of high schools throughout the Louisville area, including Catholic high schools, private and public high schools.

Our families come to us from 23 different zip codes and 8 counties in the Louisville Metropolitan area. We serve families from all socio-economic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.

We have the following teams for grades 5-8. Basketball, Volleyball, Golf, Archery, Soccer, Girls on the Run.
